As wedding florists ourselves who have had the privilege of working at many venues in central Pennsylvania, there was no hesitation as to where we wanted to have our wedding celebration and champagne brunch the day following our wedding. We had incredibly high expectations for the Barn at Boone's Dam and they surpassed the same. Ruth (owner and manager), Patrick (owner and executive chef), and Melody (event coordinator) are incredibly detail oriented and results focused. Having them handling the details of our day allowed us to enjoy every moment of our celebration. In the capacity of our own business, we have interacted with hundreds of couples and those that have their celebration at the Barn at Boone's Dam consistently comment afterward it was perfect. We now join this group and reiterate that every single thing about the venue, the food and the service was PERFECT. Thanks a million- we wish there was a rating higher than 5!

Ruth and all the staff at the Barn at Boones Dam were wonderful, the services they provided us throughout our whole wedding process were simply amazing. They were willing to do all they could to make things easier for us in planning our big day. I couldn't have asked for anything better. Ruth was an excellent hostess and made everything fall into place for us, I wouldn't complain about one thing. all the staff during the ceremony and reception were also great. they joined the party and enjoyed themselves just as our guests did. We're truly happy with how everything fell into place. Thanks again Ruth and all your staff!

This venue made our wedding dreams come true! From the moment we first visited the venue we knew this was the place. We live 1.5 hours out of town and they did everything to make this so easy. They provide endless amount of decorations there that you can use and they were perfect. In addition to the decorations we had, it was seamless set up. Did not have worry about the finish product cause they listen to what your vision is for your day and create it. A wonderful Husband and Wife team. The food was amazing...wished I could have eaten more cause it was so good. I think most of our guest forgot they were at a wedding cause they still continue to say how amazing the venue comfortable, fun, relaxed and beautiful. I cannot wait to have my ten year anniversary cause we will recreate our day with The Barn...Thank you Ruth for everything!!!, your husband and team are truly amazing. Never understood what people meant when they said they dreamed of their wedding day from a little girl....but you made my dreams come true.

About Us

The Susquehanna Chef has been providing superior catering service to the Susquehanna Valley since 1995. Owners Ruth Kranig and Patrick Burnside have made The Barn at Boone’s Dam their home base of operations for the steadily growing company. The Barn was purchased in 2008 and the couple quickly went to work transforming the building which had recently been an art gallery into the premier catering facility that it has become. Located at 737 W Fort McClure Blvd in Bloomsburg, the property provides privacy and seclusion for its guests, but is only a few minutes away from hotels and downtown Bloomsburg. The Barn features a huge second story deck that wraps around half the building; it provides a wonderful space for guests during the warmer months. During the winter half the deck can become enclosed and heated providing additional guest space for events. The meticulously maintained grounds feature a butterfly garden with gorgeous flowers and a fountain at its center, a coy pond that is nestled into the hill in front of The Barn, stunning views and countless locations to provide any couple with an amazing wedding album. The Barn at Boones Dam is available year round and is fully heated and air conditioned. It can accommodate 150 seated, 250 for a cocktail reception, or a tent can be used and can seat up to 350. Patrick is the Susquehanna Chef’s Executive Chef and also a CIA graduate. He and Ruth work together to keep the menu options current with the trends while also providing the classics that people have come to love. Ruth and Patrick are also the owners of Rose Marie’s Restaurant, located at 26 E Rear Main Street in Bloomsburg. The restaurant specializes in Northern Italian cuisine and features a stone hearth oven where all of the pizzas, specialty sandwiches, and delicious focaccia bread are baked made to order. The restaurant is open 11am-11pm every day and reservations are recommended.
